Hispanos Unidos de America
Hold government to its word.
HUDA is a movement, not a political party. Elected officials sign a public pledge before they vote. We publish every vote and organize citizens to hold them to it.
What we do
Educate. Advocate. Organize.
Educate
Plain-language explainers on how government spends, borrows and votes, so every neighbor can follow the record.
Advocate
One fixed, public pledge for every candidate and official who wants HUDA's support. No fine print.
Organize
Local chapters that turn neighbors into an informed, organized community that officials have to answer to.
How it works
A pledge, a public record, and people.
Officials sign in public
Any representative HUDA backs signs the pledge before the vote, in front of the people they represent.
We publish the record
Who signed, how they voted, and who broke the pledge. Posted where every citizen can see it.
Citizens organize
Chapters act on that record in each district, from voter education to organized campaigns at the ballot box where the law allows.
The Pledge
The first four of twelve.
Every point is specific enough to be checked against a vote. Read all twelve on the pledge page.
For doctors and everyone in medicine
Insurance should be insurance, not your boss.
Prior authorizations, step therapy and shrinking reimbursements take time from patients. HUDA stands for care decided by doctors and patients.

Signing is free. Membership keeps us independent.
Citizen dues, not corporate or donor money, are how HUDA stays free to say what it means. Sign the pledge today, or join as a member and choose a free HUDA item of your own.
The HUDA Pledge

Questions
Straight answers.
For doctors and everyone in medicine
Insurance should be insurance, not your boss.
You went to school for a decade to make medical decisions. Too often a form, a fax or an algorithm makes them instead. HUDA wants that time and trust handed back to you and your patients.
What we hear from physicians
Six problems that take time from patients.
Approval before care
Prior authorization for treatments and drugs you have already prescribed, which can delay care while the patient waits.
Fax-and-phone delays
Manual processes such as faxes and hold times that stretch approvals out, long after the technology to speed them up exists.
Step therapy
Being forced to try cheaper drugs or extra tests first, before the treatment your medical judgment calls for.
Shrinking reimbursements
Software that trims legitimate billing codes and lowers payment for the same work.
Out-of-network pricing
Physician groups have sued MultiPlan and major insurers, alleging that a shared pricing tool holds down out-of-network rates. The case is still in court and nothing is proven.
Profit over prescription
The sense that margins, not medicine, decide what gets covered, and that the visit is shorter every year because of it.
Sources: Texas Medical Association, MultiPlan litigation update (May 2026); JR Report: Doctors skeptical of insurers' prior authorization pledges. Nearly 50 insurers have pledged to ease prior authorization; many doctors doubt it will change much.
What HUDA stands for
Five commitments for patients and doctors.
Government helped build this maze through the rules it sets. Shrinking its power over medicine is part of the fix, not a side effect.
An honest promise
What we can and cannot say.
We believe that after this transition, medicine will be better for doctors financially as well: less unpaid paperwork, fewer denied claims and fairer pay for the work. We cannot promise any individual doctor's income, and we will not pretend to. We also do not say insurers should have no rules. They should prove they can pay claims and run sound finances. The goal is real competition, with insurers earning your patients' business.

How HUDA backs candidates
We back the pledge, not the politician.
HUDA's power comes from informed, united voters, not from money. We do not hand cash to candidates or parties, and we never fund personal gain for any official.
What we do
Four ways a united community wins.
One public pledge
Every candidate and official who wants HUDA's support signs the same twelve-point pledge, in public, before the vote.
A public record
We publish who signed, how they voted, and who broke the pledge, so every neighbor can check.
Voters who show up
Nonpartisan voter registration, voter guides and turnout, so our community's numbers count on election day.
Members decide
Only pledge signers are considered. Members propose and vote on which ones to back, and volunteer for them on their own time.
What we do not do
Our own rules, applied to ourselves.
Our pledge calls for getting corporate money out of government. It would be wrong for HUDA, a corporation, to do what we ask politicians to stop doing.
Can a united bloc really win?
Most often, close to home.
Town boards, school boards, county legislatures and primaries are often decided by a few thousand votes. An organized, informed community can decide those races, and officials notice who shows up. National change is harder and slower. It starts the same way: neighbors who vote, together.
